It shows the turbulent political situation in the 17th century of India wherein Shahaji Raje Bhosale, father of Shivaji, was facing problems of ruling Pune under the threats of Nizamshahi and Adilshahi. After Shahaji is forced to leave Pune and take up residency in Bangalore, he sees the villagers suffer at the hands of Mughals, and starts sowing the seeds of Shivaji’s dream of Swarajya – self-rule. As Shivaji grows, he becomes more resolved in his mind to fight the mighty Mughal and Sultanate powers; he forms an army and is the first one to use guerrilla warfare tactics which would become his trademark.
The story concentrates on the political involvement and strategic engagements of Shivaji, as well as his determination to achieve Hindavi Swarajya. Key incidents like his daring confrontation with the Mughal general Afzal Khan bring out his cunning and bravery.
