Bad Boys: Ride or Die is an action sequel that is filled with action and adrenaline, and will offer the franchise fans the same type of beats, camaraderie and high-octane thrills that they cannot get enough of. The movie resumes with Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett dealing with a new level of danger after the reputation of a late police captain gets involved into drug cartels and corruption. Their quest of making Captain Howard innocent is full of twists, betrayals and action scenes which make viewers sit on the edge of their seats. The quickness of the plot, the witty lines and comic situations in the film find the right balance of the gravity of the conspiracy with the light-heartedness of the chemistry between the two iconic duo.
The acting is also very entertaining and Will Smith and Martin Lawrence add their usual flair and humor to the parts, making quite violent action scenes sound like a friendship. The associative characters such as Rita Secada and the courageous armored men of AMMO contribute to the added excitement and tension particularly in the climax of the film at the alligator-themed amusement park. This orientation has a fast paced flow and the combination of gunfire, vehicle pursuits and heartfelt scenes makes the stakes even more personal. The storyline brings more complex plot does and the aspect of corruption, loyalty, and sacrifice to the story, but does not diminish the emotional aspect of the story.
The most touching aspect was the loyalty, courage, and inseparable connection between the couple in the movie. The novel reflects the issues of faith and redemption in the realm of the chaotic world presenting the way loyal friendship faces even the most fatal dangers. The dramatic confrontation of the final moment, the moments of heroism and sacrifice made a strong impression, reminding the audience that despite the most terrible moments, there are heroes, and they are sometimes even punching the line. Ride or die is an exhilarating adventure that pays homage to the legacy of the franchise and brings new and exciting action and emotional bonding.
