They intend to kill their murderer who has innocently boarded the plane and prevent further murdering of people. This gloomy mood, the spooky sight lines with the haunting images of ghosts and disturbing noises, contribute to the dread, which makes the airplane look more like a prison of unfinished evil.
The movie has been strong in its atmospheric direction, the use of lighting, sound, and the use of the camera that makes one feel uneasy.
