Rebel - (review)

The story “Rebel” (2012) is a powerful revenge story accompanied by emotional complexity and high action. The novel is about a carefree teenager son of a well-known village dictator, Bhupathi, who is strongly affected by the ideals of his father. As tragedy takes over and his family is brutally killed by political enemies, the path of Rishi now becomes not innocent, but fierce, and he wants to get justice. The movie touches upon the issues of justice, loyalty, and the devastating nature of revenge that involves emotional upheaval that guides Rishi in the past and fights the underworld. The story is a master piece of balancing the emotional romance with bloody action scenes and the effect is intriguing enough to watch Rishi in his pursuit of revenge.

The characters are realistic and the way Rishi turns out to be a happy-go-lucky boy to a revenge gasping warrior is especially impressive. His romance with Nandini also brings the human element to the scene and gives the viewer an emotional attachment to the story. The villains, Jayram, Stephen and Robert are portrayed as cruel and cunning making the mission of Rishi more serious. The film direction and screenplay sustain the rhythm rather fast; the action scenes and emotional accents are carefully orchestrated and create a feeling of anger, sadness, and hope. The camera work and soundtrack add to the grim and hardcore feeling, bringing the audience into the world of danger in which Rishi lives.

The greatest appeal was the emotional heart of the narrative the suffering of the loss of people beloved to us and the ethical problem of vengeance. It caused me to think about the way grief may lead to destructive ends, but also the way that it may be used to promote justice. The violent scenes and sacrifice as it is shown in the movie were a memorable experience especially as I recalled that there was a fine boundary between being a hero and a vengeant being. Rebel is an emotionally charged, intense movie that will make the audience think about the price of vengeance and the role of forgiveness, which is what makes it an effective movie to watch.
