Rudhran is an action drama that is fast, with high-octane and one that leaves the viewers on a rollercoaster ride of tragedy, vengeance and redemption. The plot is based on the life of a jubilant IT worker Rudhran, whose life is destroyed as a criminal network headed by the ruthless Bhoomi and Varadha destroys his family. As Rudhran finds out some of the black secrets of his murder of the mother and the vanishing of his wife, he is no longer a loving family man, but a vengeful vigilante. The movie deals with justice and revenge and the corrupting power as well as the backdrop of crime which spans both time and place. The varying time periods and the intense exchanges between the characters hold the viewer at the edge and the resolution is very satisfactory and serves to highlight the determination of Rudhran.
The descriptions are quite strong, and the one that really stunned me is how Rudhran changed once a cheerful man and turned into a ruthless vengeant individual. His emotional experience is extremely touching particularly in scenes where his maternal despair drives his bloody crusade. Bhoomi and Varadha, the film’s antagonists, are flaunted as threats and powerful, increasing the stakes of the quest by Rudhran. The gritty tone is intensified in the direction and cinematography of the film, the action sequences are well choreographed and the dark and atmosphere shots make the tension more tense. Background music and editing are part of the immersive and fast-paced experience that leaves the viewers on their seat.
The most remarkable part was the emotional depth of the novel- the crude sorrow and unrelinent will of Rudhran to avenge his family. It caused the feeling of catharsis and clarity of morality even in the middle of violence. The movie made me reflect on the thin line that separates justice and revenge and sacrifices a person makes to protect the family. Rudhran is an action movie with a high emotional appeal that is both action-packed and emotionally touching with a memorable feel of perseverance and pursuit of justice.
