Skanda - (review)

Skanda is an action drama, a romantic film that is emotionally charged and offers the concepts of loyalty, justice, and redemption in a prodigal son. Fundamentally, the movie is centered on Skanda, a formidable and unknown individual who is hired to take down two strong political opponents whom are the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, whose confrontation unfolds over a scandalous affair in the middle of a wedding. The story has drawn an intricate thread of political intrigue, individual vengeance, and secret pasts that have been interwoven on the colorful and rich background of the Indian political and social scenes. The storyline of the film is captivating and the conspiracy and revenge underlying it leave the audiences at the edge of their seats.

The characters are well developed with Skanda being the most developed character with a dark background and a sense of justice that makes the story rich. The acting is strong; the lead character is convincingly stoic but torn in a hero, supported by the supporting cast with its depth and tension. The direction of the film is a masterpiece of combining loud action scenes and moments of emotional attachment and betrayal, and it makes the movie not only exciting but touching. The production design and cinematography make the world of the politics and the roughness of the life of the main character very clear, but the background music adds to the emotional theme, and the adrenaline felt during the main moments.

I found the complex description of the character of Skanda most interesting, who in one way is an avenger and in another is a protector, and how the film explores the theme of righteousness and sacrifice. The story gives hint of more to the story to be told and viewers are left wanting a sequel. Skanda is an interesting blend of action, drama and mystery that will give one a feeling of anticipation and curiosity of what the protagonist is actually and about his troubled past. It is a unique, engaging movie that is unforgettable, particularly to those who are interested in drama-driven action movies that are hard-going.
