The performances are engrossing with Ajay Devgn making a powerful impression as Tanhaji, who is ferocious as a warrior, yet also very duty bound. Kajol does a great job of giving her supporting role a heartfelt touch and shows love, strength and resilience as a wife. Udaybhan Rathod, the antagonist, brought enough menace and depth to the film, adding to the conflicts. The fight scenes are well choreographed and the cinematography is brilliantly done, making the rugged terrains and action come to life under Om Raut’s hands. The music in the movie is a great addition, which adds more meaning and impact to every victory and sacrifice.
The theme of loyalty and heroism was the most striking aspect, inspiring pride and admiration. While there are melodramatic moments, the moving and visual narrative is successful in honoring an unsung hero.
