AGASOBANUYE LIVE

Vikram Vedha - (review)

Vikram Vedha is a crime thriller that is morally ambiguous and will get the audience into a place where goodness meets evil. The movie focuses on Vikram, a straightforward face investigator with a black and white perception of right and wrong, and Vedha, a desperate gangster who knows everything about human nature and the grey facets of right and wrong. Their cat and mouse game is presented in a series of enthralling tales Vedha retels on the way they chase each other, all throwing back strata of lies about themselves and the underworld of crime they find themselves in. The plot beautifully switches back and forth between the action scenes showing great intensity and the moments of reflection making the viewers wonder, is justice black and white or it is a range of shades.

The narration is full of mystery, ethical grayness, and emotional richness. Stories about his previous life, which include how Vedha was initially a small-time goon but since then became a powerful gangster, or how he has been entangled in situations of loyalty, betrayal and moral dilemma, have been well told which adds an extra layer to his character and flouts the strict sense of right and wrong, which Vikram possessed. The screenplay of the film keeps the audience in suspense and its twists reveal how power corrupts and the real price of being right. The acting is fantastic and Vikram and Vedha perform their roles exceptionally, with minor differences in their ideology, so their conflicts are not only physical but philosophical too.

The issue of morality, redemption, and whether there is a righteous or wicked person is what sticks out as most memorable about this film. The denouement, a dramatic stand quickly summarizes the ethical quandary central to the narrative that is whether to pursue justice or mercy. Vikram Vedha is an emotional, thrilling, and intelligent movie that makes one think and contemplate the conditions of human nature and the narrow boundary between right and wrong actions.
