A well-known plumber named Hugo is called to fix a plumbing issue in the house of a well-respected Navy officer named Michael. During his work, Michael’s wife keeps bothering him, flirting with him and trying to distract him from his work. Even though she is acting flirtatiously, Hugo keeps his head held high and her in line, reminding her of Michael’s identity as his friend. The woman boldly approaches him, offering him food, attention and chances to be alone with her. Hugo though is tempted but continues to try to leave and not trespass on any moral boundaries.
Michael travels out of the house on which he lives with his wife to attend an important meeting, and instructs Hugo to complete the repairs and look after his wife for the remainder of the day. To take full advantage of it, the woman asks her friend Laura to join her in seducing Hugo. Together they push him to stay, assuring him that Michael will never know. Eventually it seems Hugo has finally succumbed, but things suddenly get dramatic as the woman accuses him of inappropriate behavior. She feels she’s caught him and suspects that her husband will take her side of the story.
But when Michael comes back, the truth is still outed. In fact, the whole situation was a very well orchestrated and well-thought-out plan to uncover his wife’s wrongdoing. Michael is not just a plumber, he’s an undercover officer working for Hugo to get evidence. The investigation reveals that Michael’s wife and her friend Laura had been engaged in several thefts and fraudulent schemes for several months. Their effort to black him because he was a kept man is only further evidence of their guilt. Women both arrested, taken away and Michael left heartbroken at betrayal. Finally, justice is served and the tale has a strong message about the consequences of deception, greed and betrayal.
