Blast is a thrilling action thrill ride about a family of martial arts enthusiasts whose sole goal is to defend the weak and wretched. A true believer in karate, Rajaram resides with his wife Neelaveni, and their daughter Nila is blessed with his fighting spirit. Nila learns to fight for herself from her childhood and discipline and strength are the backbone of the family’s peaceful existence. The movie demonstrates their deft action scenes, with some of the choreography being quite intense, but with emotional impact, highlighting their dedication to protecting those who can’t protect themselves.
It takes a sudden twist to the plot when one of the most powerful corporate villains, Varun Dayalan, and his ruthless assassin menace a village by planning to use a rare mineral buried deep within a mountain. Their greed and willingness to destroy lives for profit was what set the stage for a fierce confrontation. As the family tries to save itself from peril, they are the first to stop Varun’s evil scheme. The action scenes in the film are punctuated by a moral message of standing up for what is right, while the film also examines the issues of environmental destruction, corporate corruption, and moral courage.
The emotional aspect, the family ties and the sacrifices in a chaotic environment was most striking.
