Cashero S01 - (review)

Cashero, Season 1 is a new and funny take on the superhero genre, but there is some amount of satire and poignant moments with characters. It is primarily about a civil servant, Kang Sang Woong who is transformed into a superhero, and in which the money he has is his source of power, making it a very smart commentary on the materialistic society, and how superficial the power of money can be. This peculiarity of the classical hero figure is an added cheeky satire that makes the audience ponder about the values that people have in society and gives the audience enough laughs. The persona of Sang Woong, who began as a normal man but becomes a hero who contends with his personal shortcomings and financial addiction, is a simple to follow and yet a marvelous film story of self worth and real strength.

The drama is superior on character dynamic especially how Sang Woong relates with his realistic girlfriend who is a lawyer, whose powers come into play when she is drinking, and a psychic who runs on calories. Their personalities are amusing and moving and make the ideal combination of action shots and the real emotionalism. The villains of the heroes are enigmatic and the supporting cast which adds more intrigue and excitement. The language is light, yet meaningful and the conversations and the joking visual jokes render the series captivating. The act and the pace is a dancing rhythm, which allows the character development to flourish in the realm of superhero adventures.

What I found most interesting was the wit with which the poem “Cashero” condemns the materialistic quality of the culture, but it glorifies the ideals of such sincere qualities as loyalty, cleverness and endurance. It is also thought provoking and entertaining with the humor and social commentary of the show that people will always remember that, being strong is not always what you carry in your pocket, but what you have within. Overall, Season 1 is a funny, imaginative series that is entertaining and thought-provoking and to which I would recommend.
