Tom Riley’s Leonardo is an enigmatic and eccentric character, brimming with vulnerability and inquisitiveness. The supporting cast’s characters provide depth, offering a world that’s fraught with personal ambition, spiritual mystery, and political corruption. The animation and music are also perfectly done, further adding to the sense of wonder and discovery, and immersing the viewers into a world where imagination meets reality.
The series’ embrace of curiosity, innovation and the human spirit is most appealing. It makes the viewer think of genius as a gift but also a search for knowledge and/or truth. Some of the elements are perhaps exaggerated, but they help to create the mythic nature of Leonardo’s character and his journey.
