AGASOBANUYE LIVE

The Raja Saab - (review)

The Raja Saab is a bold fusion of drama, mystery and supernatural thriller that takes a look at the issues of heritage, power and redemption. It revolves around the life of Raja Saab who is the young heir of the royal family and the rebellious soul aiming to find out the truth about his grandfather Kanakaraju and the haunted past that plagues his family. The story is an amalgamated fusion of the haunted mansion, the black magic and the intricacies of love and betrayal that form the haunting and woven up story that leaves the viewers guessing at every twist and turn.

The strong point of the film is its interesting twists of the plot and well-developed characters. The transformation of Raja Saab, who was simply a naive heir to a potent ruler, into a man who is able to bend the history in the way he wants is intriguing and spectacular to watch. The performances, especially the role of Gangadevi, who hangs on her crumbling memories and Bessy, the religious nun trapped in a snare of deception give the supernatural mess a human touch. The dark haunted mansion environment, the haunting sound design, and the cinematic atmosphere creates an additional suspense and makes the viewers feel in this mysterious world. This is followed by a spectacular and philosophical ending when Raja Saab draws on some kind of superhuman power to fight the evil.

The best thing was that the movie examines the strength of human spirit in the face of supernatural and family darkness. The deceit, enchantment and internal power compel the feeling of admiration and reflection about what the real essence of force and heritage is. Though sometimes the storyline seems overloaded and very complicated, the film is an entertaining viewing with its creative plot and emotional outbursts. With the Raja Saab, one is left with a question at the end of it all as to what happens to the protagonist- and the dark stranger in the background gives the sense of a possible sequel- and it is a very thought-provoking and very captivating experience.
