I Will Find You Season 1 is a thrilling, suspenseful, high stakes thriller of the nature of justice, deception, and parent and child. The film is about David Burroughs, a Boston law professor who was falsely accused of murdering his young son Matthew. Then a new piece of evidence comes to light that Matthew might still be alive, and David’s world is turned upside down, compelling him to leave prison and to find out who the real man is. A tale that cleverly jumps from past to present and leaves the audience in suspense throughout with corruption, betrayal, secrets and more. It was a very emotional and tense journey and didn’t make me breathless and kept me on my toes as I had to fight hard to sustain my faith in the relentless quest for justice by David.
Both series deliver solid performances, with Sam Worthington delivering a tender but determined performance in particular. The supporting roles (Britt Lower as Rachel, Ashton Cressman as the young Matthew, and the layered villains) are both deep and complex, and bring the story to a personal level. Its direction and cinematography play with the suspense; the pacing is sharp, the visuals add to the atmospheric tension, creating a sense of urgency and mystery. It is a complicated and twisted tale, containing a number of layers of conspiracy and corruption from corrupt officials, organized crime and a sinister cover-up. It’s a great story and this all goes to the dark side of man.
It is the emotional story of the series, the unconditional love of a father who will fight anything to find his son that really hit me. The story is full of twists and turns, and there is no way there’s no emotion involved, no hope, anger or heartbreak. Overall, the series is a testament to the strength of perseverance and truth, even in the face of darkness. A suspenseful, emotional thriller that packs action and emotion into its package, for those who enjoy a little action and heart in their thriller.
