The movie is the story of a former special forces assassin, Jessica Brok, who gave up her violent history to move on to being a single mother in an isolated town. Her new peaceful life is destroyed as her past catches up with her in the shape of vengeful psychopaths out to score old points. The narration skillfully addresses the issues of redemption, endurance, and the unwanted shadows of the personal past, underlining how the past may be used against oneself to ruin even the peace acquired with the greatest effort.
The movie is strong in the way it gives strong characterizations and is emotionally rich. The lead gives a multi-layered performance, striking a balance between cold-steeled determination of her character and the instances of vulnerability that make her struggle more relatable. The antagonistic villains are cold and unstable and make it even more tense and dangerous along the way.
