“Badass Ravikumar” is a stylish action flick that packs a punch of action and attitude. This action film stars the out-of-control, badass police officer Ravikumar, who is recalled from suspension to tackle a notorious gangster syndicate headed up by the stylish gangster Carlos. Using unconventional tactics, Ravikumar embarks on a world-spanning journey, complete with stylish fight scenes, elaborate robberies, and eccentric antagonists. The film is stylishly over-the-top, with a campy approach that keeps the audience entertained through the film’s fast-paced action scenes and creative fight scenes.
The narrative is a tangled espionage story, with secret reels and global plots, that weaves Ravikumar’s personal history and Laila, Carlos, and the secret agent reel into the mix. This tale masterfully combines action and drama, particularly as Ravikumar is reunited with his one true love, Madhubala, along the way. The stylish action scenes, such as diamond thefts and heated exchanges, are coupled with a rich colour scheme that enhances the film’s comic-book aesthetic, creating a cinematic experience with every scene.
The film’s attitude and Ravikumar’s badass factor were the best part – a vigilante hero who breaks laws to enact his own justice. I was invigorated by the film, its audacity and the spectacle of violence. It’s an exaggerated homage to the policeman genre, with plenty of twists and turn and a cast of characters to keep the action flowing. In the end, “Badass Ravikumar” is a riotous adventure that embraces defiance, heroics, and flash – a fun action movie that isn’t overly serious but certainly delivers on the fun.
