The story is filled with mystery, action, and the elements of the hero’s journey, with Peng teaming up with some talented companions such as Fang Xiaojiu and Duan Qingyao, and encountering a world fraught with internal warfare and evil plots. The theme of revealing corruption and overcoming difficulties has a strong impact, instilling hope and determination in the audience.
On the visual front, the series has lush costumes, elaborate set designs, and choreographed martial arts scenes reminiscent of the style of classic wuxia films.
